Description: New adventures begin where Tomb Raider: Legend ended. Miss Croft travels to southern Mexico, the city of Chiapas. There she discovers the ancient gates between our reality and Hell, described by the Mayans (they call them Xibalba). The gates remain open for six days. During this time, Lara will have time to visit not only the remains of the ancient empire, but also Australia, Easter Island, Rome, the Vatican, Mesopotamia, and the Golden Triangle (Asia). She will do all this to prevent the end of the world described in the Mayan calendar. According to ancient prophecies, this should happen on December 21, 2012. On this day, the "Long Count" cycle, which began 5,120 years ago, will end, and a new era will begin. Well, naturally, the scriptwriters will present us with pleasant surprises, because at the end of "Legend," Lara was on the verge of finding her mother... Let's wish her good luck and move on to discussing the innovations, and fortunately, there is something to talk about in the setting.
The changes have affected the main character's appearance. Forget the signature khaki shorts, blue shirt, and eternal braid. They have been replaced by black shorts, a dark shirt, and a ponytail. Lara herself has also changed a bit—her facial features and figure have been corrected and improved. In addition, the authors are using motion capture technology, which gives the girl's movements fluidity and ease, as if she were in a yogurt commercial. Miss Croft's wardrobe has also undergone changes, and the graphics have become much better.
As for the gameplay, the emphasis is on non-linearity. From now on, the environment will be almost completely interactive, and Lara will be able to influence it in completely different ways. She will push away obstacles with one or two hands (depending on whether there is a gun), learn to lean on mechanisms with one hand, and return fire with the other. Agree, this is very useful, because opponents appear at the most unexpected moments. The girl will master shooting at two targets at the same time and new close combat techniques.
Interaction plays an important role in solving puzzles. For example, with the help of the "cat" (hook), you can not only move objects, but also throw them from a height. The developers claim that there will be a place for Lara's favorite bike. It will also be possible to pick up objects from the ground. For example, use sticks as levers for broken mechanisms.
