Timothy
and the Mysterious Forest has an "old school" style with some modern ideas. It combines Game Boy graphics (heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening) with self-paced narrative, stealth, and action combat on a high difficulty setting.
The game blends adventure/exploration elements with puzzles and stealth: exploring, reading, and maintaining a slow pace is the best tactic.
Three different endings!
High difficulty is key: Timothy is essentially defenseless and dies with a single touch from enemies or traps.
Melee combat and stealth can be combined.
Grab and Throw: Certain items can be grabbed and thrown at enemies to instantly kill them.
Intelligent enemies move using patterns and usually patrol their territory.
Timothy, an ordinary kid, wants to save his grandfather from certain death. The elderly sheikh has fallen ill and is now fighting for his life. Timothy, who loves his grandfather dearly, decides to make a dangerous journey into the infamous Mysterious Forest. Legends speak of a magical mushroom capable of curing any disease that grows in the forest. Timothy bravely embarks on his journey to find the magic mushroom.
The world is filled with ruins, cemeteries, graves, caves, swamps, and strange characters: each place is designed to look wild, deserted, and dangerous. With the exception of Timothy's grandfather, most of the characters are often unkind or controlled by unkind emotions. Minimum
