They Are Billions is a far-future strategy game about building and managing human colonies after a zombie apocalypse has wiped out almost all of humanity. Now, only a handful of survivors must fight for survival under the threat of infection. Billions of infected people roam the world in massive swarms, searching for the last living human colonies.
Survival Mode
: In this mode, a randomly generated world is created with its own events, weather, geography, and infected population. You must build a successful colony that must survive against swarms of infected people for a certain amount of time. It's a fast-paced and highly addictive game mode. We plan to release a weekly challenge where all players must play the same random map. The best scores will be posted on the leaderboard.
Real-time with Pause
: This is a real-time strategy game, but don't get too stressed. You can pause the action to make the best strategic and tactical decisions. In Pause mode, you can place structures for construction, give orders to your army, or consult all the game information. This game is about strategy, not player performance or player skill in quickly memorizing and executing dozens of key commands. Pause the game and take all the time you need!
Build Your Colony.
Build dwellings and obtain food for the settlers. They will come to live and work for the colony. Gather resources from the environment using various building structures. Upgrade buildings to make them more efficient. Expand the colony's energy distribution by placing Tesla Towers and building mills and power plants to feed energy to your buildings. Build walls, doors, turrets, and structures to monitor the perimeter. Don't let the infected take over the raging!
Build an Army
. What kind of people want to fight the infected? Only the craziest. Train and hire mercenaries to protect the colony. They demand their money and food, and you'll have to listen to their rude comments, but these tortured heroes will be your best weapon to destroy the infected. Each unit is unique and has its own skills and personality - discover them!
Thousands of units on screen.
Yes! Billions! The world is full of infected creatures... they roam, they smell, they listen. Each one has its own AI. Make noise and they will come - kill a few to reach an oil deposit, and hundreds will come to investigate. We've created our own custom engine to handle swarms of thousands of infected, up to 20,000 units in real time. Think your colony is safe? Wait for swarms of thousands of infected roaming the world. Sometimes your colony is in their way!
Prevent Infection:
If an infected breaks into a single building, all colonies and workers inside will become infected. The infected workers will then rush to infect more buildings. The infection must be eliminated from the start, or it will grow exponentially and become impossible to contain.
