Theater Commander
: Coming Wars is a real-time, modern warfare simulation game focused on campaign and battle levels. It includes over twenty scenarios covering hypothetical conflicts around the world, from the Sea of Japan to the Korean Peninsula, from the Taiwan Strait to southern India, from the Sinai Peninsula to Eastern Europe and Crimea. In addition to traditional air and naval warfare, Theater Commander features large-scale land battles involving up to thousands of ground units per battle up to the company level. As a joint force commander, you command tasked air, sea, and land forces consisting of up to half a million troops to carry out missions such as destroying enemy fleets, landing on enemy territory, crossing borders, and capturing enemy cities.
Key Features:
Each battle map, which covers an area of up to 2,000 km x 2,000 km, is built on satellite-verified terrain data (mountains, hills, plains, rivers, etc.), land cover data (forest, meadow, desert, etc.), and human facility data (road, railway, city, airport, etc.). The game engine calculates the outcome of the encounter based on terrain, unit strength, weapons, and morale, making each battle a real-life experience.
Most units involved in battles—not just aircraft and warships, but also ground units—are known by their real names and are equipped with weapons as they serve in their countries, as best the Theater Commander developers know through years of data collection efforts.
Theater Commander's developers have spent a significant amount of time making the game easier to play for players without a deep understanding of modern warfare. For most operations, if desired, players only need to specify routes for units, leaving tactical movements, weapon selection, and other parameters to the AI, just as a Theater Commander would.
