In The Sentient, you play as an artificial intelligence tasked with assisting humanity's failed space exploration plans. Thanks to your ability to process data relatively quickly, you are tasked with bringing as much research and knowledge back to Earth as possible via an orbital station known as The Ark. In The Ark, you can recruit a crew, change the design of your ship, and conduct research to improve existing and new technology to aid you in future missions. When you're away from The Ark, your decisions can mean the life or death of not only your ship but also your crew. Space is a vast and unknown world, so everything must be discovered to work with or against the aliens.

2) Choose a Crew: Recruit a crew with perks and daily needs. Train them well and become stronger.

4) Ship-to-ship combat (based on ship designs and crew capabilities): Can't take enough damage? Increase the number of shield generators and shield control units. Not enough damage power? Increase the number of weapon tanks and weapon control units.
