As a child, I was incredibly fortunate to have generous parents who gave me a brand new Spectrum, a device that provided me with countless hours of wonder and entertainment with games filled with impossible levels. This game—my personal passion project for the past few years—aims to pay homage to that wonderful era of the first personal computers, the first arcades, and the first consoles.
As passionate as I was, and still am, about games, I was not—and still am not—a very skilled player. One of the things I always hated was having to start over again. That's why in SUPER RETRO RETRY, the order of the 100 levels changes every time, and as a result of this small change, another change almost organically emerged, one that might seem much more radical: the player only has one life. When there's no longer the tedious need to repeat the same levels over and over again, the number of lives becomes almost irrelevant. Once you've mastered the game, one life is enough to get through all the obstacles.Minimum
