Star Wars: Demolition Game Information
: Star Wars: Demolition was created by the same team that brought PlayStation owners Vigilante 8 and its sequel. Pod racing was banned by the Empire, but Jabba the Hutt decided to devise a more serious competition to provide entertainment and, more importantly, profit. Fighters from all over the galaxy compete in familiar Star Wars locations, such as Tatooine, Hoth, Dagobah, Naboo, and Cloud City. The game was released on both PlayStation and Dreamcast. The game was released on PlayStation on November 12, 2000, and on Dreamcast on November 19, 2000. Players will immediately notice familiar playable Star Wars characters from both trilogies, such as Wookies, Jawas, Boba Fett, and Ura Sing, as well as iconic Star Wars vehicles, including AT-STs, Snowspeeders, Supes, Skiffs, and Podracers. There are a total of six playable characters at the start, with at least six more unlocked by completing certain objectives in the game. Built around the Vigilante 8 engine, Star Wars Demolition lets players control their favorite characters and vehicles and unleash destruction on computer-controlled opponents or friends. Players compete in closed arenas and collect weapons scattered throughout the arena, including photon torpedoes, thermal detonators, and traction beams. Whether you're dueling a single opponent or facing multiple opponents, the goal is to be the last vehicle left standing.
