Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is an open world action-adventure video game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It was released on October 21, 2008 in North America, on October 24, 2008 in Europe, and on October 28, 2008 in Australia. The game was released on PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Wii, PSP, and Nintendo DS.
The game takes place in New York City , which was attacked by followers of Spider-Man's enemy. At the beginning of the game, "Venom" (also known as the Black Spider-Man) is believed to be dead. Spider-Man was walking and saw soldiers fighting to no avail because their weapons were weak and did not harm the attacking monsters. He was thinking about the words of his girlfriend, "Mary Jane Watson," who left him because of his new appearance in black clothing, which she believed made him evil. But then he starts fighting and sees a soldier, so he asks him where "Mary Jane Watson" is . The soldier tells him, "I do not know what you are talking about." Then, Spider-Man transports him to another place until he is treated. Then, a little while later, "Mary Jane Watson" comes with a person named "Luke Cage." But moments later, an explosion occurs and he falls to the ground. He looks around and knows what happened. It is "Venom" (also known as the Black Spider-Man). "Black Spider-Man" ... he has returned, and "Venom" says to him: Peter Parker I will take revenge on you and I will destroy you, but the black substance on "Venom" is attracted to Spider-Man, so the black suit returns to him, giving him greater power, and Spider-Man fights with Venom "Venom" and defeats him, but "Venom" escapes, so Spider-Man decides to pursue him and kill him.
