Ruinarch
is a sandbox simulation game where you create obstacles and cause conflict in fantasy worlds created with generative procedures. Inspired by story generator games like Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress, weaving tales of doom and humor is central to Ruinarch's gameplay. The game gives you all the hellish tools you'll need to toy with people's lives and relationships.
There are many ways to be evil. Choose from three overlord styles—each offering a different playstyle. Do you want to focus on pure destruction, or do you prefer a more nuanced, dignified approach? You can then customize it further by adding optional abilities to suit your own preferences.
You can experiment with combining devastating spells.
The easiest way to wipe out villagers is to simply cast powerful spells like meteors, earthquakes, fireballs, lightning, and others. But what happens when you drop a meteor into a toxic pond? Toxic meteor explosions, that's what happens! And that's just one of the many devious ways you can combine elemental interactions to create your own personal cocktail of destruction!
You can even activate artistic effects.
Sometimes, a world created with generative procedures will contain some powerful relics you can play with. If you find a Necronomicon, gift it to an evil villager to turn them into a Necromancer and let them terrorize the villagers themselves. But be careful, as some relics can be used against you as well!
You can torment villagers with flaws.
Of course, you can simply destroy the world with ice and fire, but the real fun begins when you interfere in villagers' lives to put them in convincing and tragic situations! Torture the local hero with lycanthropy and watch his loyal friends turn to him when the full moon rises. Torture a troublesome husband with betrayal and then watch the fireworks as soon as you tell his wife about his actions.
You can breed and breed monsters.
You can capture a stray monster and then raise it in your Sanctuary. This will allow you to summon a copy of it anywhere in the world. Your tainted copies behave differently from their innocent counterparts as they were bred to perform very specific functions.Minimum
