The vast land of China is represented in a single realistic map, with land features beautifully reproduced in CG. The vast map consists of 46 cities and approximately 340 districts. The districts are groups of detailed lands, and the struggle for land is intuitively expressed through a color system. Players can occupy lands to unify the land and teach their colors more freely.
New strategies are created from supply lines and maintaining the front.
When troops are on a march, and the source marching city is connected to territory under the control of the player's troops, the supply lines will be maintained, and the troops can fight with abundant supplies provided to them. However, if the connection with the marching city is cut off, the troops will lose their supply lines, weaken, and fall into chaos. Securing the supply lines is a key part of maintaining the battle front.

Players can organize the administration, the center of power, as an element that expands the player's strategy. The administration is displayed in an organizational chart, and when retained officers are added to the organization, they gain different commands and effects. It's important to create an administration that fits your own strategy.

Over 1,000 unique officers, the largest in the series, are present in the game, and each officer is assigned a "character" (trait). There are over 150 characters, some useful in battle, some in administration, and so on.
