Information:
Proteus was developed by Ed Key and David Kanaga and published by Twisted Tree. It was released on January 30, 2013.
Proteus is a game about exploration and immersion in a dreamlike island world where the soundtrack to your gameplay is generated by your surroundings. Played from a first-person perspective, the primary means of interaction is simply your presence in the world and how you observe it. The procedurally generated islands are home to natural and imagined creatures, serene valleys, and ruins with magical properties.
Key Features:
Contemplative Gameplay: The interactive world and the absence of any text or hints focus the core of curious, investigative gameplay, rewarding patience and immersion.
A dynamic soundtrack composed by award-winning musician David Kanaga follows the mood of the world and will appeal to fans of Boards of Canada and Brian Eno.
A distinctive 2D yet 3D graphical style with randomly shifting color palettes sits somewhere between 8-bit video games and early 20th-century modern painting.
Islands are generated uniquely each time, and while it's theoretically possible to see everything in a single run, no one ever does.
A built-in "postcard" function encrypts world data in each screenshot, allowing you to save and share your islands and discoveries. Minimum
