The premise
behind Vlambeer's Nuclear Throne is simple: it's a roguelike-style top-down shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world. Not "humanity's last hope" in a post-apocalyptic world, but "humanity is extinct and strange, terrifying monsters now roam the world" in a post-apocalyptic world. All you have to do is take control of one of these mutants and shoot the things trying to kill you. Use simple weapons like five-tube bazookas, super plasma cannons, or those damned cool laser pistols. Or the game might just give you a screwdriver. Deal with that. Transform some new limbs and abilities as you progress, and become the ultimate throne hunter. Search for secret vaults containing game-changing crowns, discover powerful rare weapons, or compete in global daily and weekly challenges. All of these things and more are possible if you're good at this game. Can you reach the Nuclear Throne?
