Medal of Honor is a first-person shooter video game developed by Danger Close Games and EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It was released in North America on October 12, 2010, Australia on October 14, 2010, and Europe on October 15, 2010.
The game's story takes place in late 2001 during the early days of the invasion of Afghanistan. Tier 1 operatives from the Navy SEALS DEVGRU (known as Special Forces Team 6), call sign Neptune, consisting of operatives codenamed Mother , Voodoo , Preacher , and Rabbit, are sent to meet with an Afghan informant named Tariq, who has intelligence on the Taliban. Neptune is ambushed by Chechen forces and fights his way through the village to retrieve Tariq. Shortly after extraction, Tariq informs them that the Taliban and Al- Qaeda have a large force of 500 to 1,000 fighters in the Shah-i-Kot Valley. Neptune was tasked with securing Bagram Airfield with an Afghan National Army unit. By March 2002, the airfield had been redesignated as a NATO Forward Operating Base ( FOB). All local assets were commanded by U.S. Army Colonel R. Drucker , who appeared to be a cautious and competent officer, in contrast to his commanding officer, General Flagg, who worked in an office in the United States and was unaware of the AFO teams' role in the operation. While Drucker planned to use "level one" agents to scout for insurgent positions in the valley and eliminate Northern Alliance soldiers, Flagg distrusted the local population and gave the colonel 24 hours to deploy the 10th Mountain Division, the 101st Airborne Division , and U.S. Army Rangers.
Meanwhile, "Echelon 1 Teams" are inserted into the area to conduct reconnaissance and coordinate fire support. The "AFO Wolfpack," consisting of four Delta Force operators , is codenamed "Panther."Vegas , Deuce , and Dusty eliminate enemy positions in two small villages and travel to OP Clementine, while Neptune does the same with OP Dorothy. Completing their mission ahead of schedule, R. Drucker sends Northern Alliance soldiers to eliminate several insurgent positions. A furious Flagg is called away and inadvertently orders the AC-130U crew to open fire on friendly forces. The remaining Northern Alliance forces panic and withdraw, leaving the Colonel no choice but to deploy the Rangers as ordered. While entering the Shah-i-Kot Valley, the Rangers come under heavy fire and the Chinook is shot down. The Sentinels are pinned down by heavy machine guns, so a fire team led by Sergeant Patterson, consisting of Specialist Dante Adams, Corporal Hernández, and TACP Technical Sergeant Ybarra , surrounds the enemy positions and destroys the machine guns. They move to secure another landing zone, but are ambushed by insurgents arriving in overwhelming numbers, surrounded and running low on ammunition. Ybarra radios Bagram for reinforcements, which arrive in the form of a pair of AH-64 Apaches, facilitating the extraction of the Sentinels. The Apaches move through the mountains to destroy Taliban weapons caches and enemy mortar positions. Upon their return Back at the base, a Taliban anti-aircraft crew attempts to destroy the helicopters; however, Deuce kills the AA gunners. Deuce and Dusty climb the mountains, ambushing enemy patrols and mortars, and providing sniper support for Neptune, who is in heavy contact on the nearby Takur Ghar Mountain . Neptune withdraws over the ridge line and fights his way to the extraction point.Mother and Bunny reach the helicopter, but the Chinook takes off early due to heavy enemy fire, leaving Voodoo and Preacher behind. Drucker" الأوامر و يرسلُ قُوّة ردّ الفعل السّريع للحارس لإستخراج "Neptune"، حيث أُصيبت الطّائرة من طراز "Chinook" بنيران كثيفة، وقُتل ثلاثة من الحرّاس وأحد أفراد الطّاقم، وأُصيب أربعة آخرون. بعد تأمين موقع التحطُّم للجرحى والمُسعفين، توجّه "Hernández" و "Ybarra" و "Adams" و "Patterson" إلى الممرّ الجبليّ. حيث أُصيب "Hernández" أثناء مُحاولته العُثُور على مدخل حُفرة عنكبوتيّة وأعاده "Ybarra" إلى منطقة الهُبوط. يتواصلُ "Adams" و "Patterson" مع "Preacher" و "Voodoo" ويُواصلان البحث عن "الأمّ والأرنب". بعد أن هاجم أربعة منهم معاََ معاقل للعدُوّ بمُساعدة طائرة بدُون طيّار تابعة لوِكالة المُخابرات المركزيّة، حيث قامُوا في النّهاية بتحديد مكان المُشغّلين المفقُودين المُقيّدين في مخبأ بعيد، وقد تعرّضُوا للتّعذيب من قِبل المتمرّدين. حيث يمُوت "الأرنب" متأثّرًا بجراحه بينما يقومُ زُملائه بإخلائه. حيث يُطالب الفريق بالإخراج، لكن أقرب المروحيات تُحلِّق من "Kandahar"، على بُعد مسافة ما. حيث تزدادُ حالة "الأرنب" سوءًا، وعلى الرّغم من مُحاولات زُملائه في الفريق، إلاّ أنّهُ تُوفيّ مُتأثّراً بجراحه ومات قبل وُصول الخلع. حيث تمّ إنتشال النّاجين السّبعة بأمان، بالإضافة إلى "حارس QRF". أثناء مُراقبة زوج من "مقاتلات F-15E"، حيث يقصفان مخابئ المتمرّدين المُتبقّية، حيث يجمعُ "Preacher" سحر "قدم الأرنب" من جسد "الأرنب"، مع مُلاحظة "الأمّ" و "Preacher" أنّ الحرب لم تنته بعد، حيث تنتهيّ اللّعبة بمشهد "لـAjab" و "Preacher"Sitting on a city street, talking to each other in Pashto. While discussing the quality of the tea they're drinking, they recognize the man they're looking for and stand up to approach him, which leads directly to a mission in the next game: "Medal Of Honor: Warfighter."
