The story of the game takes place in 1943, after training in North Africa. The Energy Finance Company, where Sergeant Boyd Travers teaches the 82nd Paratroopers. After being thoroughly trained by the sergeant, the 82nd Paratroopers' mission is to assist in the invasion of Italy, beginning with Operation Husky, after Sergeant Boyd Travers nearly kills a US Marine, mistaking him for an enemy. Boyd Travers and his 82nd squad land in the village of Adanti , Sicily, where the group helps neutralize several anti-aircraft emplacements while fighting Italian soldiers, before venturing deeper into the village to find a missing sniper team and help his squad repel a German counterattack. Traveling to the Italian mainland, the 82nd Paratroopers participate in Operation Avalanche, removing ammunition stockpiles and a fuel depot. Motor boats and radio equipment at the archaeological excavations at the ancient Greek city of Paestum near Naples, Italy, with Boyd Travers helping to attack and destroy a ruined temple with anti-aircraft guns, before Allied P-40 bombers arrive and destroy the German artillery around the excavation site.
One year later, on June 6, 1944, the 82nd Parachute Division participated in Operation Neptune (named after the planet Neptune), providing assistance to American forces preparing to land on the Utah beach as part of Operation Overlord. Working with his company, Sergeant Boyd Travers eliminated all potential threats to the invasion force, including a Tiger tank and a series of bunkers, before heading to the coastline and eliminating German anti-aircraft defenses that were endangering the incoming landing forces. A few months later, Boyd Travers and his company participated in OperationMarket Garden, to help capture the city of Nijmegen in the Netherlands, while preventing the Germans from destroying the city bridge with explosives. Despite a fierce counterattack, including the use of Panzerschreck rocket launchers and Tiger tanks, the 82nd Parachute Division secures the bridge for American Sherman tanks , while Sergeant Boyd Travers receives a promotion to Corporal for his selfless service and sacrifice. Following
the failure of the Allied Market Garden mission, Boyd Travers transfers to the 17th Parachute Division. In March 1945, his company participated in Operation Varsity, landing inside an industrial complex in the western German city of Essen to destroy its stockpile of ammunition and tanks, while shutting down weapons production facilities. Despite a counterattack by heavily armored Allgemeine SS forces using MG42s that inflicted heavy Allied losses, Boyd Travers was able to overcome the new threat and successfully destroy an armored ammunition train arriving at the complex. A few days later, with Operation Varsity continuing as planned, Boyd Travers found his company moving deeper into enemy territory inside the western German city of Essen , with the mission to destroy a massive bomber tower, which Allied bombers had failed to level. Despite fierce opposition, Boyd Travers helps neutralize the main fortifications within the tower, before assisting an engineering unit and detonating the charges placed beneath the tower, destroying the structure as the war in Europe begins to enter its final stages.
Finally, Boyd Travers comments on how history will remember the sacrifice and bravery of the men of the Parachute Class Sections for their actions during World War II.
