Klaus
is a 2D puzzle platformer with a self-aware narrative. Its design is inspired by classic games with a gripping and emotionally gripping story.
"I don't know who I am."
Klaus discovers his identity while trying to escape from a mysterious basement. Along the way, he'll discover who he is, what "Klaus" means, and how he got there. As he jumps over spikes, hacks computers, and avoids danger, Klaus seamlessly interweaves key elements of his story, which evolve naturally as you play.
these fourth-wall-breaking moments
, in Klaus, you don't play as the title character; you are his companion. Klaus acknowledges your presence and wonders aloud about his escape and how he found himself trapped in the first place. His personality can be volatile in weaker moments, as Klaus has his own agenda. Oh, and Klaus may not always want to do what you want. After all, who wants to die because of someone else's mistakes?
K1, the Friendly Monster
During your journey, a "friendly" character named K1 may join you on your journey. K1 is a fighter, at least in part, and thanks to his destructive power, he can smash through obstacles and perform Shoryukens effortlessly. Klaus and K1 can be controlled separately or cooperatively to solve puzzles, though at times they may be separated. Each character, of course, has their own motivations.
Remembering the Past
Throughout the game, Klaus will recall his past through interactive memories. Each memory is playable in a unique way with different mechanics from other sections of the game. Just like real life, the dream worlds in Memories don't follow the same rules as the rest of the game. Minimum
