Build Your Village Information
When your settlers arrive, they have nothing but the clothes on their backs. You take control and tell them to gather materials and build walls, floors, and furniture. You're not limited to pre-defined buildings! Design your own houses and decorate them to your taste. There are many building and furniture items you can use to create the settlement you've always dreamed of!
Take Care of Your Villagers
The residents are your first priority. At first, you just need to provide them with food and shelter. But the world is full of dangers! An infection can be fatal to the strongest warrior, and a plague can sweep through your entire settlement. Every resident reacts to events, whether happy or sad, and reflects this in their behavior. Happy residents will gain a productivity boost—unhappy residents may revolt with anger.
Raise Your Family
Residents go through a lot together, so they value their friendships greatly. Some of them may even decide to start a family—and you'll soon be welcoming new members to the group! The young are the future of the village, so make sure they have a happy childhood and a proper education—sometimes achieving both can be difficult.
Build Your Farm
Food is important. Good food makes settlers happy, wrong food makes settlers sick, too little food makes settlers sluggish, and no food makes settlers die. Grow a variety of seasonal crops and set up a kitchen to prepare delicious meals. Make sure you stock up before winter arrives and be quick when a swarm of hungry insects descends upon your fields!
Weather the Winter
Use the time you have and make sure you have enough food stored away, because winter is coming. Let's hope you don't have to divide rations—that will make your settlers weak. When supplies are running low and the freezing cold wind is blowing outside, it's easy to lose hope.
Trade Goods and Prosper
Rumors have spread that your settlement has started producing goods. Receive traveling merchants and see if you can get a good deal on some ancient scrolls or buy extra food to prepare for winter. Try to keep production up so you always have something to sell. A mature settlement needs to pay good wages to keep everyone happy. If morale is low, the extra money can even buy a little happiness!
Research Technology.
Building your home is a long process, and resources and manpower aren't the only things you need. Smart settlers devote a lot of time to researching new technology, which opens the door to improved equipment, new furniture, and building elements. Select your scientists carefully—if their personality doesn't suit this type of work, they won't make much progress.
Protect Your Outpost
You're not alone in this new land you call 'home.' Some of the Tekkegoblins living there aren't all happy with your settlement efforts and may visit to try to stop you. Train your settlers in the art of war and equip them with the best weapons and armor you have. Build walls and towers to ensure the security of your settlement—that way, your enemies will have a hard time trying to mess with you!
