Be strong, be fast, be immortal—but be warned—as you fight with the unstable powers of the Ember, they will begin to taint and warp your soul. Every gift of power has a sacrifice; every ability has a cost.
As the gods fight for control of their creation, you must decide what is good and what is evil. To protect your people from the danger of the Ember's power, you must use its power to your advantage. Will you overcome the darkness, or lose yourself to corruption?

Absorb
As a Knight of the Ember Alliance, you have the ability to absorb the abilities used by your enemies. For every ability used by enemies, there is a chance you will learn it. This allows you to customize each character toward the goals they possess. But every absorbed ability has a cost...

Tainting
Every absorbed ability will taint your soul. You will gradually lose yourself to evil as the quest progresses. This manifests as unstable Taint traits that result in transforming into an evil being (such as a lich). And you will lose yourself to corruption...

Repeating
Each round will last between 30-60 minutes. After the quest is completed, the most Tainted will kill their former allies in an epic battle. This Tainted being will begin attracting evil around them and will act as a boss in a future quest once their influence has expanded sufficiently. They will have all the powers you provided them during the round, providing a never-ending challenge in future rounds. For each Tainted Boss, it takes a stronger party to defeat them. And the cycle repeats... forever? Minimum
