Dying Flame takes the Japanese horror tradition with its heavy emphasis on surprise moments and puzzle solving and amplifies it by taking the constant source of hope and comfort: light.
Dying Flame is designed to leave the player immersed in darkness, while solving puzzles to not only escape the twisted house, but also to uncover the full story of addiction, guilt, and marital loss.
The atmosphere of Dying Flame will have you fearing the 16-bit digital darkness, with a desire to keep a lighter by your side at all times.
- A haunting atmosphere as players solve puzzles based on clues found in the house.
- Collect the necessary items to solve puzzles and uncover the full story
. - You can save the game, but whether or not you save will test you, stress you out, and give you an understanding of the addict's desire.
- Death stalks your every step from the darkness.
- A sudden death is possible with one wrong move.
- Headphones are highly recommended.

Creating Dying Flame was a labor of love and grief.
The game features multiple endings, all drawn from our personal experiences of loss, guilt, forgiveness, and the liberation of progress in life, whether light or flame guides you.
Between the demands of real life, working full-time, and trying to work on a game part-time, we truly found ourselves lost in the dark. Rather than give up, we took a leap of faith and dived into indie game development in June 2020.
We're finally happy with the design, believe we've created the experience we wanted, and are proud to share James and Mary's story with the RPG Maker community and the wider gaming community.
We hope you gain insight into the pain, loss, grief, addiction, and guilt that can do to a person, and that you'll never have to experience it yourself. Minimum
