The story of the game revolves around "John Tanner" (the hero of the series in the parts: "Driver 1" , "Driver 2" and "Driver 3" ) after he was exposed to an accident that put him in a coma, as the person who caused the accident is "Jericho", the enemy of "John Tanner", and that was at the end of "Driver 3", where "Jericho" escaped from prison and then "John Tanner" followed him, as the events of the game take place a few months after the end of the events of "Driver 3", as the game shows both "John Tanner" and "Jericho" who recovered from the shooting that took place in the Turkish city of "Istanbul", where "Jericho" escaped to the American city of "San Francisco" and "John Tanner" pursued him there.
