: European Wars is a historical real-time strategy game based on the events of the 16th-18th centuries in Europe, when states and kingdoms were created and destroyed, and wars shed rivers of blood. There are 16 countries or regions in Cossacks: Algeria, Austria, England, France, the Netherlands, Piedmont, Poland, Portugal, Prussia, Russia, Saxony, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venice. Each has its own original graphics, economic and technical development characteristics, military advantages and disadvantages, and unique units and technologies, providing a wide range of tactics and strategies in the fight against any enemy. Thus, England is the strongest naval power, Austria has powerful light and heavy cavalry, and the Cossacks are the pride of the Ukrainian army.
Battles with up to 8,000 units are possible on single-player or grid game maps. A player can conduct lengthy city sieges, wage guerrilla wars, capture commanding heights and arrange ambushes, deploy landing forces on enemy shores, and conduct naval battles. The game system is structured to minimize unit control and precise resource management, shifting to global objectives of building a strong economy, developing science, seizing new territories, and defending borders.
