War 2 is a grand strategy/RTS hybrid against a galaxy already won by unfamiliar AIs. It's also "the sequel to [Arcen's] massive space-based AI War, which we called 'one of the best strategy games of the year' back in 2009" (Tom Sykes, PC Gamer).
The smartest, most acclaimed AI in strategy games returns... with a host of mutually exclusive enemies. Face off against a more advanced version of the original AI, which has once again conquered the entire galaxy, leaving you with only a tiny planet to yourself. Then go off and find a way to outsmart it anyway. All the new captureable objects, bigger fleets, and hacking abilities are sure to help. (You'll need them.)
Or dive into a more complex space conflict involving nanocasts, macrophages, Dyson spheres, and more. Each faction has completely unique objectives, rules, units, and economies. Make the scenario complex enough and it could become "World War 5 is on, you're on a small farm in the middle of it, nobody likes you, but if you can just kill this giant, angry enemy leader, it'll all be over."
If that sounds like a bit of a stretch—and honestly, that part makes us tired even imagining it, even though some people are digging it—take a break and maybe hack an everything-eating computer virus into your ally, convincing the giant cells to watch your back while you take on the suddenly less cocky AI.
